Eve­li­ne Has­ler, nar­ra­tor, St. Gal­len Cul­tu­re Pri­ze win­ner and gran­de dame of the his­to­ri­cal novel, recalls the Jewish Swiss poet Regi­na Ull­mann, her tra­gic fate and her suc­cess in post-war Munich, prai­sed by Ril­ke and Musil, which came to an abrupt end when the Nazis for­ced her to flee.
